Description:  Sex and Zen is, simply put, one of the most unbelievable movies ever put to film. Lawrence Ng stars as a randy scholar who challenges tradition by attempting enlightenment via the unscrupulous ravishing of as many women as is humanly possible. This desire occurs despite being married to his delectable wife, played by famously top-heavy Hong Kong Cinema starlet Amy Yip. But the quest to become the ultimate player comes with necessary enhancements, namely a horse's member in place of the scholar's, uh, laughably small endowment. Thanks to a quack doctor, the scholar gets the necessary surgical help to experience life as a well-hung guy. But does such carnal pleasure come with a price?

Based on a seventeenth century novel titled "The Carnal Prayer", this raunchy, raucous romp is the perfect midnight film for consenting adults looking for something very, very off the wall. Sex is played for laughs as much as it is for titillation, resulting in many unbelievably entertaining sex scenes. Sex and Zen has eye candy to spare, thanks to appearances by Isabella Chow, Rena Murakami, and of course fan-favorite Amy Yip. The film also features appearances by Category III staple Elvis Tsui, Shaw brothers veteran Lo Lieh, and Kent Cheng as the doctor skilled in horse-to-human organ transplant. It may not be family-friendly or even a comfortable conversation topic, but Sex and Zen can easily be called a cult classic.

Interesting plot, designed in unmatched surroundings of the Ancient East, intertwined with beautifully filmed explicit scenes. Girls who appear in the film, very pretty. Special praise deserves the main character - beautiful, stately, emotional actress.

But not worth watching this movie for the girls and sex. The film does not dwell particularly on this, his ideas are deeper and more diverse. He tells us about the importance of Platonic feelings, about the value of mutual support of two loving people, about the pointlessness of jumping above your head, for the sake of dubious values, the importance of loyalty and the adverse effects of the thrust to sexual abundance.

However, the narrative sags in some places, making some boring moments view.

But overall, this mixture of humor, sexuality, philosophy and chanting of human values is commendable and highly recommended for viewing to all smart, creative people and lovers of Oriental surroundings and beauty.

Starring, written, and produced by Ivan Rogers (1954-2010, RIP), Forgive Me Father had a very small theatrical run in 2001.

The general vibe, violence and wardrobe really make this seem like it was made several years beforehand.  I personally think it's a little too long but it's still good tasteless fun with plenty of clunky acting, but Rogers' vanity project  is pretty damned sincere.  This film was released in the US with a pretty crappy DVD presentation (my encode doesn't look too much worse than the source) and was also released in a "Christianized" version called On Fire on the budget label Digiview; boobies, cursing and a love scene were cut, but all the violence was left in, hooray!  I think there's an Australian DVD available but I have no idea of its quality.

Did I mention our heroine is a spine-ripping, flesh-eating badass who sprouts wings and claws when she gets off? You bet she is! This movie is pure entertainment, full of the chintzy Romainian sets, badly dubbed dialogue, and early '90s synth music you know and love from Full Moon Productions.

From hell to the earth gets dark angel and turns into a beautiful girl — Veronica Iscariot. Here, among the people, steeped in sin and vice, she has quite specific plans.

But they were not destined to be realized: once got under the car, Veronica appears in the house of Dr. Harris. Captived by the beauty and obedience of the victim and also because of his professional duty, the young man is taken to cure the girl. And, unexpectedly, the "dark angel" falls in love with his "guardian angel"...

Description: Here's another one of Franco's "sex in a hotel" films for Golden Films Internacionál. Every Franco enthusiast knows how these films are... lots of unrealistic 'funny' sex scenes, few rooms, lobby and a garden for shooting locations, Lina Romay speaking with his annoying high-pitched comedy movie voice etc. Very boring film but not as bad as ¿Cuánto cobra un espía? and this one only runs 77 minutes. Lina has short hair so she doesn't look that sexy either. Damn.

Based on the above description from the book "Obsession The Films of Jess Franco" by Lucas Balbo, it sounds not only like an almost exact remake of "Elles Font Tout" but similarly related to "Celestine... Maid At Your Service", "Para las nenas... leche calentita" and at least a half dozen other Franco flicks about a sexual woman who rejuvenates other relationships with her magic touch. It's a Video Search of Miami original so the picture looks a bit fuzzy or smeary, but it looks better in motion than in still frames and the subtitles make it worthwhile.

Description: A movie set almost completely in one room - Room 407 of Motel Cactus in Seoul. Divided into 4 episodes, Motel Cactus attempts to explore 4 stages and types of romantic relationships. In the first, a woman celebrates her birthday with her boyfriend but soon makes a disappointing discovery. Next, a couple of film school students are hoping to shoot an project assignment in the motel room. The third story revolves around a drunk couple who meet at a bar and arrive at the room before indulging themselves in a  series of drunken games and revelry. Finally we have a couple trying to rekindle the romance they shared back in college. 

Comprised of four segments, with a woman and a man in each, meant to fit together by the end of the movie. Each story occurs within the same hotel room at the Motel Cactus.

The first segment has a woman and a married man meeting on her birthday. Even thought they are bond together by great sex, there is something missing.

The next segment has two students pounding away at the production of a college film in the room. But more than film will be pounded, with the lady losing her virginity.

The third segment has a lady renting the room to contempate a failed relationship that ended in the same room. Deciding drinks might help her memories and sadness, she hits the bar, gets picked up, has a bit of fun in the room, and then leaves while the man is sleeping.

Finally, we have a divorced lady missing her man. The man, it turns out, is the same one from the third segment. Somehow they appear at the room and try to rekindle the old flames.

This hard to find on DVD film by Sidney Lumet has only been released in PAL Region 2 and I guess it is a decent enough VHS transfer. We have the usual cropping to 4:3 (unfortunately) and some …hints of 1:85 right before the end credits (a squeezed widescreen sequence which can be button switched to look like it should). Colors interchange between washed out and quite bright (Or is it the seasons changing?). The transfer to PAL must be the reason for minute interlace here and there (but overall this is fairly watchable) and also account for the 4 minute difference to the original 98 minutes release.
